Playgrounds with restrooms in Austin

Sites where visitors confirmed a working restroom. Condition notes are on each entry.

Clarksville Splash Pad

A shaded splash pad with a small swing-and-slide playground about twenty feet away. Restrooms on site. Parking is the weak point.

Shipe Neighborhood Park

A compact two-acre park that packs in a free pool, resurfaced courts, and a tree-shaded playground. Strong community upkeep.

Bartholomew District Park

A large district park with a pool, a shaded kindergarten play section, and a full set of courts.

Mabel Davis District Park

A big district park with a pool and a skate park. The play equipment sits in full sun, which matters from May onward.

Govalle Neighborhood Park

An east-side park built around sports fields and a paved loop, with a play area on the shaded edge.

Rattan Creek Park

A north-side park with a seasonal splash area, a creek trail, and a full court set.

Central Park

A small central green next to shops and a weekend market. Convenient, rarely quiet.

Big Stacy Neighborhood Park

Built around a heated public pool open year-round, with shaded trails alongside. Restrooms exist but are dated, and the showers draw complaints.

Longview Neighborhood Park

A minimal play structure attached to wooded hiking paths and a full basketball court. Restrooms exist but have been found locked.

Springwoods Park

Two age-split playgrounds under heavy tree shade, with restrooms, pavilions, tennis and a sand volleyball court. One of the better summer options; the parking lot is small.

Pepper Rock Park

A renovated park with a zip line, net climbers and separate 2-5 and 5-12 play areas, plus restrooms, grills and a basketball court. Wheelchair access works but is not effortless.

Skyline Park

A new park built around a splash pad with a shaded circle of seating stations for watching toddlers, plus a short zip line, covered picnic area and restrooms with a changing table. Young trees mean shade is still limited.

Richard Moya Park

An old pecan orchard where mature trees shade nearly the whole park, with two playgrounds, twenty-odd covered grill spots and creekside trails. Restroom cleanliness is contested.

Patterson Neighborhood Park

A large peaceful park packing in a pool, community garden, small skate area, free tennis and basketball courts, playscape and shaded picnic tables with grills.

Colony Park Pool

A family pool with a zero-depth entry, baby slides and a partially shaded walk-in wading section, plus a 48-inch water slide and a diving well. Clean restrooms with showers; limited parking.

Woodlands Park

A covered playground beside a creek with turtles, mini soccer pitches, grilling stations and restrooms. Crushed-granite trails are gentle and mostly shaded; a useful water stop before the River Place trail.

Bob Wentz Park

A large lakeside park with several parking lots, clean restrooms, drinking water and plenty of shoreline. Five dollars a day to park; arrive early for the best picnic spots.

Bartholomew Municipal Pool

A heated municipal pool with depths from three inches to twelve feet, water slides and a beginners' area, free outside summer. Overcrowding is a repeated and serious complaint when other sections are closed.

Cypress Creek Park

A tranquil lakeside park with a boat ramp, public restrooms, picnic tables and grills under shady trees. There is no playground here — it is a picnic and water-access park, not a play destination.

Mountain View Park

Two well-maintained playgrounds, plenty of shade, a large pavilion with around ten picnic tables and clean stocked restrooms, plus a moderately difficult nature trail. Ample open parking.

Northwest Balcones Neighborhood Park

Two distinct age-appropriate play areas, swings, basketball, a large field and restrooms — strong provision for children under about eight. Restroom cleanliness is middling and parking is awkward.

Willow Bend Park

A charming playscape under established trees with a decent amount of shade even at midday, a community pool open until 8pm, public restrooms and substantial parking.

Lost Creek Neighborhood Park

A well-designed modern playground surrounded by a sturdy fence with positive-catch gate closures, two complex slide systems and a large rope climber. Bathroom on site; parking is limited.

Mills Pond Recreation Area

Dirt trails circling a pond and linking to neighbouring parks, so walks can be lengthened or shortened at will. Several playgrounds, piers with a shade gazebo, restrooms near the small lot and free street parking.

Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park

An unusually accessible district park with multiple lots spread around it so you can park near the section you want, an Olympic-size pool, tennis and pickleball, and a modern playground with baby and regular swings. Restrooms are basic.

Brentwood Neighborhood Park

Several playscapes plus a rock climbing obstacle, sidewalks for bikes and huge grass areas, with tennis, sand volleyball and public bathrooms. The pool has been out of commission and the field is used informally as an off-leash dog area.

Dittmar Recreation Center

The only place in south Austin offering free indoor basketball, with five pickleball courts marked on the gym floor, a pool, playground and clean air-conditioned facilities. A daily-use neighbourhood anchor.

Roy Guerrero Metropolitan Park Plaza

A fenced playground segmented by age with a wheelchair ramp into the play area, shaded benches, restrooms better than expected and tons of parking. River trails run for an hour or more from here.

Onion Creek Greenbelt

A corridor of narrow wooded dirt trails running beside a creek, mostly shaded and popular with dog walkers who let dogs splash in the water. Several access points, free parking, a small restroom and a water fountain. Muddy after rain.

Pillow School Park

Multiple playgrounds with sectioned-off play areas, lots of shade, a covered basketball court and a track. Note the portable toilet sits on a curb rather than level pavement, which blocks wheelchair and mobility-aid users.

Garrison Park

An enclosed children's playground under heavy tree cover, with several picnic tables and grilling stations, a large covered pavilion, basketball and restrooms. Regularly cleaned by the city.

Ponciana Neighborhood Park

A neatly designed park with a stroller-friendly third-mile circuit, a covered pavilion, several grills and many picnic tables. Parking is extremely limited and the only toilet is a very dirty portable.

El Salido Pool

A spacious neighbourhood pool with a splash pad visitors of all ages enjoy, good seating and staff repeatedly singled out as excellent. Parking is tight and the men's changing area draws consistent cleanliness complaints.

Mansfield Dam Park

A well-maintained Lake Travis park with shaded picnic areas, a climbing boulder, clean facilities and plenty of parking, used for swimming, fishing, boating and scuba. Affordable entry fee.

Jessie Andrews Park

A striking octopus play structure and a climbing-led playscape on a gorgeous grassy area — but there is no shade at all, the picnic tables sit in full sun, and the planted trees are years from being useful in Texas summers.

Colorado Crossing Park

A quiet park with a pond, playgrounds, a well-regarded restroom, plenty of parking and shade to sit in — but no cover over the play equipment, which visitors called out as a strange omission for a new park. Shades were reported being installed.

McKinney Heights HOA Pool & Park

A spacious HOA park with a gated pool needing a key, plenty of room for children and an outdoor basketball court. The pool is reported cloudy, the restrooms need a power wash, and the lot is a round-the-clock hangout.

Davis/White Northeast Neighborhood Park

A sizable, mostly shaded neighborhood green space with a recently rebuilt playground, trails, and sports courts that works well for a relaxed family outing, though parents should know the play area sits close to a busy road and restroom availability has been inconsistent.

John Gaines Park

A toddler-focused pocket park with tunnels, swings, and a turf surface that keeps clothes clean, plus a shaded grassy spot for a picnic, though the on-site bathroom drew a complaint.

St. Francis Field

A north Austin soccer field with a surprisingly good playground, a walking path, and a portable toilet on site, though visitors warn the restroom is often dirty and vandalized.

The Armadillo and The Frogs

A sweet little play nook with benches, partial shade, and a soft surface built for toddlers, located next to public restrooms, though one visit found it taped off and out of order.

Belterra Retreat

A family retreat with a splash pad the kids adore and a playground on site, plus restrooms that need a fob to enter, though one visitor flagged litter around the grounds.
